Alright, so I'm very proud of my little honda. I own a 95 Civic EX. Simple car, just intake, exhaust, and a vtec controller. Gets the job done for me at this point. Typical ricer. Anyway here goes...

So I'm on my way home from work. I usually take the back roads home because there isn't very much traffic and it's great scenery to look at while traveling. There also aren't very many stops along the way. I'm cruising along, and most stop lights are about 2 miles apart at the most. Takes me about 20 minutes to get home.

Alright, so I'm cruising up this hill all alone, and in my rearview mirror I see this car flying up on me. It's a good quarter mile behind me, but coming up fairly fast. I don't pay any attention, but I get over in the right lane to let him go by. Well, anyway the car flies by me like I'm standing still. I didn't pay too much attention to the car, but just noticed it said KIA on the back of it. All of a sudden the car slows down and pulls back to the side of my car. I look over and see this tiny Hispanic guy looking over at me like he wanted a race. Any given day I wouldn't waste my time racing a KIA. But I figured why not. Just shut him down and let him realize his car isn't as fast as he tries to make it be.

See, I drop down into 3rd, and he hears that I've done so. So he does the same and we both take off. I get a good jump on him and gradually pull on him. Once I hit 4th we keep even, me ahead by atleast a car length, and still continuing to climb on the speedometer. I'm hitting about 100mph and just as I look down to see how fast I'm really going, I notice out of the corner of my eye, HE PASSES ME!!! SHIT!!! WTF!!! When he passes the little F-er rolls down his window and flips me off!! I had only hoped that the next light was turning red so I could hop out of my car to beat the shiz out of him. But to his advantage, the light changes, he flies by the intersection, and I slow down. Don't think I pussed out or anything, just didn't want to cause an accident of any kind. But, I haven't seen that car or even seen the guy for that matter. Total shocker. The civic bites the dust bad... Well, I know it's embarrasing, but this just happended the other day. Well, can't say too much except damn... Well, late....

KIA = killed in action.

I dunno what's sadder man, the fact you got beaten by a Kia or the person who owned it actually did something to make it faster...I think I'm going with the latter of the 2. :D

But in all seriousness, why bother?
It'll be more expensive and not near as reliable no sense turning your car into a guinea pig to see what works and what doesn't because there aren't too many people trying to make Kia's faster I mean all the power to them to make it faster it just could have been done cheaper easier and more reliably if they would've chosen another path and no I'm not saying Honda, really like veedubs can be make decently quick if they have either the vr6 or 1.8t, Ser's can be made quick and lets not forget the v8s.

It's all true. I actually laugh over the matter. It's a great story for a good laugh. The thing is is there wasn't anything special about it. Just looked like a crappy car. Also, it wasn't even a new KIA. Just an ordinary KIA. So, who knows, maybe he's going for the whole sleeper effect. But, the only thing is he didn't have to be an ass by flipping me off. That is the only reason I felt I should pissed off. I've actually been beaten by worser cars. Shit happens, and the only thing you can do is bend over, take it up the ass, and keep on walking. Well, thanks for reading into this, but it really shouldn't be anything worth arguing over. Well, late...

I was thinking the same thing as type S. A Civic isnt fast. So what makes him think that a Kia didnt come with more HP? DO you know what kind? Look it up. I doubt he made it faster. He probally heard your exhaust, took you for a stereotypical ricer civic, and gave you a run.

As for him flipping the bird...there goes the sportsmanship. A simple thumbs up would have sufficed.

As for you slowing down, and worried of our reaction, dont be. I would rather have you never win a race, then win every one and die from it. Safety > A simple race.

ehh dont feel bad...every1 loses a race sometimes...and no, civic's aren't all that fast...i can beat newer ones and i have a 89 Maxima...but thats not the point...anyway...as for slowin down...i'd have done the same thing...for a couple reasons...1) accident 2) police sittin at the light (im always lookin out for cops...i saved my best friend a couple times from gettin busted bcuz he never looks...he just goes...) 3) the race was over...no need to keep goin fast...but o well...different people do things differently...

To be honest civics aren't much to be afraid of...no offense to the civic owners but one of my friends got a civic dx and thought it was the fastest thing in the neighborhood...I don't understand the rationalle on the especially when the older ones have stock hp of at the most 150 (civic si)

That sucks man. And Civics aren't incredibly slow like all you guys say they are, the thing is, most of the Civics around now are driven by 16 year olds who know nothing of cars, and just put a bumpin system in em and an exhaust to sound like the rest. Nothing wrong with that, but most of the Civics I see don't have engine work done to them. Probably 3-4 in my town have engine work done, the other 200 are "ricers"....

There's a good friend of mine named bubba (yea... his name is bubba...) but he owns an older civic hatchback and has done alot to it (more than i can type right now, but if it is very important to the topic i'll do it later. That civic is FAST.... Only person who has ever killed me was him... Well except the ocassional v8 gt stang that i know i have no chance against but i do it anyway.

it's not about the brand... I'd love to say i got beat by a maxed out kia, because frankly they do not exist. There's too many popular cars being tricked out and ''modded'' that they all begin to look the same. Correct me if im wrong, but isn't variety the spice of life?

I hate the ricers too, probably more than most of you but they are a good crack to laugh at and to put in their place because they don't know anything about cars, and they know it but they won't admit it... They would rather bs and look stupid than admit the simple fact they know nothing. Now, flipping you off was retarded, the only time to flip someone off is when
a. they piss you off
b. they say anything about your mom or your girlfriend (or boyfriend if you're a girl)
c. if they are in a lancer and decide to sneak into your lane damaging your car in the process..

I would like to say though, don't think your civic is extremely fast, unless your bubba, cause i know he does a 8 sec 1/8 mile, and to be honest, that's pretty darn fast. *not compaired to hyde or anything, cause imo that's one sick car he drives*

Of course its not bad to own a Kia or mod a Kia, but in this case I think all the bad things we say about this guy's Kia, he deserves. I mean the guy flipped him off durring a race. What kind of guy flips another guy off for winning a race against him?
