swapping my 2.7 for a larger engine96black_widowGT 10-06-2004, 02:04 PM i was wondering if anybody knew where i could get an engine from liek an LXI, also could i use my 604 trans. i know that the 2.7's are crap but how are the larger engine's on the concordes? thanks all luke LHSDriver01 10-11-2004, 09:51 PM Can be done, you can change it out to either a 3.2 or a 3.5. They are very reliable engines, you just have a timing belt to worry about at around 100K miles. Also, your trans is a 606, not a 604. Basically it's the same though. the 604 is for transverse mounted engines. AWP9521 10-12-2004, 06:52 PM 3.5 is definitely the way to go, good torque and pulls real hard from 4000-6500 RPM, decent economy too. I would think the PCM would need changed too to get the correct fuel mapping for the larger engines as well as Transmission Shift Points. LHSDriver01 10-12-2004, 08:05 PM PCM should be changed, but i know a few who are running 3.5L's on 2.7L PCM's with no problems. Actully went to a drag strip with a guy last april who had swaped to a 3.5L and was still using his 2.7L pcm. Ran low 15's.... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
