Does this occur while moving?

If not then it is definately an underhood noise. I would look and see if the serpentine belt is aligned, and also look for signs of wear or glazing (which can cause squeals).

If your serpentine belt has not been chaged in a while, get a Goodyear Gatorback at Autozone it is in the range of $30? Well worth it and very quiet belt, I have one.

You need a 1/2 drive beaker bar to move the belt tensioner enough to give you slack to remove it. And there is an underhood label showing you the belt routing (Emissions decal).
