Raced a newer Chevrolet Camaro Z-28 with a manual transmission the other day in my stock 1998 Corvette A4. The first "real" race in my car. He was following me on my tail closely, and I could tell he was wanting a piece. Was afraid he'd get me since he had a 6-Speed and we both had LS-1's, but decided I'd try anyways. I nailed it at about 63-65mph while he was on my tail, and he proceeded to do the same. I walked him pretty bad and at about 115-120 I cut off and he was a good bit behind me(4-5 car lengths). I then slowed down and he got on my tail again. I slowed to 40 and he got up beside me. I motioned to go on 3. Did my hand gestures... 1, 2, 3... beep. This time things got heated. He immediately pulled ahead 1/2 a car length, seeing as my slushbox didn't help. He then got a full length on me. The at about 70-80 I caught back up and began passing him ever so slightly. I finally cut off at around 100, and I had a length and a quarter on him. We soluted each other and went on our own ways. I was wondering if there is any way anyone could simulate some 1/4 figures for my car with help from comparisons to the Z-28's specs.). I've looked in the past at Corvette C5 A4 1/4 specifications, but all the figures were inconsistent and I can't get a good reading on exactly how fast my car is. Also, seeing as I have an A4, would I have an better advantage from a dead stop or a roll againsy manual vehicles? And how close would this race have been from a dead stop. Sorry for the long post and all the questions. Any comments are appreciated. Thanks.
