Air Intake Screen02blackstallion 09-28-2004, 03:41 PM Does anybody know how to take out the screen thats right after the airbox, in front of the MAF sensor, without destroying it? nineball481 09-28-2004, 05:23 PM as far as I know it is glued in. So if you want it out you will have to cut it out. jeep_cj4x4 09-28-2004, 05:59 PM I took mine out because there was a link to a site on here that "showed how easy" it was. Ya, it's destroyed. I wont be puting that screen back in. http://www.sshotrods.com/performance/gmtruck/fullsize/99up/maf/ sc_customs 09-29-2004, 03:24 AM we took out the screen on the MAF sensor on my buddy's 98 S-10 and about a week later his motor crapped out on him. he had never had any engine problems with his truck until this incident. not saying that the 2 are related, but i sure am hesitant now to take out mine. jeverett 09-29-2004, 07:46 AM I just popped mine out w/a screwdriver, and have re-used it 2 times since then. All you gotta do is be verrrryyy careful. brandon7777 09-30-2004, 10:53 AM I took my screen out with needle nose pliars. I was told that it was Okay as long as I have my KNN fitercharger on. I was also told that aftermarket MAS are sold without the screnn. I hope I will be Okay vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
