What was the first thing you did to your civic when you bought it?95dxcivic 09-27-2004, 02:00 AM I got this idea from a thread in the camaro forums from a member called y2icon. "What was the first thing you did to you camaro when you bought it?" Im asking the same question but about civics. Me, I first bought it a head unit and some speakers. That same day I got an intake, steering wheel cover and floor mats. That was all. Now I have added two bazookas and a kenwood amp. Oh, I also did a tune up to it about 3 days after I got my car. Kafziel 09-27-2004, 09:44 AM Well, I bought mine brand new w/ 6 miles on the odometer, so I didn't do a damn thing to it for about 5 years except putting a bra on it and a steering whell cover. Once I paid it off, I started replacing some stuff that looked shitty (for instance, I had spilled some epoxy on the center console and in the cup holder, so I replaced them). Then one day my muffler went to shit. I decided to replace the cat-back with a bigger pipe. Then I got a crack in the exhaust manifold, so I bought a header. By then, I was on a roll. New intake, spark plugs, rims (still 14", but wider tires) rotors and pads, drums and shoes (I like my drum brakes - they give the car character), shocks and coilovers... and so on and so on. I'll never swap out the engine (until it drops dead, and then I'll put another D16 in it). I have no plans to win any races or auto shows, but I've had a lot of fun keeping it looking and running good. Beastiek2 09-27-2004, 12:50 PM Shaved emblems, swapped out shift knob. CivicSpoon 09-27-2004, 01:35 PM Head unit (because theives stole the kenwood that was in it before I actually got the car) and put an autometer tach in the same day, because it's my first 5 speed and I didn't want to blow the thing up. BennyBakwood007 09-27-2004, 01:52 PM first thing i did was change out the factory head unit with a sony, then did a thorough tune up, changed the spark plugs and wires installed a short ram intake, catback exhaust, tint-sprayed my headlights and tailights, the next day i got the windows tinted and put my 17" rims on...that was a pretty busy weekend for me!!! CiViC_cHiCk 09-27-2004, 04:22 PM Tint... man putting that tint on it made a world of difference.... Shaguar47 09-27-2004, 05:22 PM New rims, they make all the difference. Beastiek2 09-27-2004, 05:26 PM Rimz are the last thing I do. I have everything done but rimz lol Alejo_nin 09-27-2004, 05:39 PM sold it and bought another car lol 97CivicX 09-27-2004, 06:03 PM cd player and speakers, radio blows swiftrecon 09-27-2004, 10:19 PM what civicX said....can't drive without my music.......gotta get into the MOOD... fiercecivic 09-27-2004, 10:30 PM i swapped rims and stero over from my old 90 hatch 91hbman 09-27-2004, 11:32 PM just bought a 92 cx and i installed factory fog lights and new cat back exhaust. 95dxcivic 09-28-2004, 12:21 AM Head unit (because theives stole the kenwood that was in it before I actually got the car) and put an autometer tach in the same day, because it's my first 5 speed and I didn't want to blow the thing up. Yeah, I need a tach too. Specially since I havent been driving stick for that long. I wanted an autometer but a jdm eg cluster is cleaner. Ricochet 09-28-2004, 12:54 AM stereo/tint/moonroof all at once. B1SiR6A 09-28-2004, 01:00 AM I put on my fart can!...then some H&R springs then pioneer cd player, clarion door speakers and no name tweeters CivicSpoon 09-28-2004, 01:26 AM I wanted an autometer but a jdm eg cluster is cleaner. Amen to that. I get stares and revs because everyone thinks I have something done performance wise. But I didn't want to deal with the KM thing; guess there's always a Si or VX cluster. 95dxcivic 09-28-2004, 01:34 AM I get stares and revs because everyone thinks I have something done performance wise. Well, a big tach usally gives performance hints to me. They might not have any performance upgrades, but it does make you think. A friend of mine has a black mustang with a bodykit and 20" rims. I like the car alot. The first thing I saw in it the first time I saw it was the tach. I was like thirteen. I didnt even know what the thing was. The car was an automatic too. Why would he need it? Miataracer 09-28-2004, 02:34 AM first thing i did to my car was make it run so i could drive it off the lot (blown fuse) then i took it home and gave it a complete inside and out clean up and threw my old 17" wheels on it. after that i took the time to wire up my alpine stereo in it. that was in the first day. it has come a long way since then Hermansader 09-28-2004, 03:32 AM The first thing I did to my car was an ITR swap. :iceslolan cas4067 09-28-2004, 07:12 AM Well the first thing I did to my car was order all the pieces to fix it. It was wrecked when I bought it and I purty much ordered all the pieces at once. (hood, z3 fenders, bodykit, cold airintake, radiator and so on) and put it together as the pieces came. PhoebeusFenix 09-28-2004, 11:37 AM Ive got a 99 ex 2dr 5spd, the first thing I did was the intake, got a generic one off of ebay and bought a good k&n filter, then i did some interior stuff, gauge swap, painted door panels and stuff, nice gloss black. Then i won a skunk2 short shifter off of clubcivic.com and got that installed a few days ago*feels wonderful*. My plans for it are to: *Buy GReddy SP2 or EVO2 this december *getting my cousins stainless steel header when he does his swap in december *wanting to get some tenzoR's(seats), black *new wheels and tires once the stock ones die out(16's are the highest im going, also getting forged so theyre light) *swap sometime next year or the year after(whenever i get the money), wanting a b16c5(or is it a b18c5? cant remember) Geeko 09-28-2004, 12:01 PM first thing i did after i got mine was to drive it 1200 miles, from texas to ohio. the next thing was to take it to a dealership because an idiot light had come on- the O2 sensor was bad, but it was covered under a recall (hurrah). havn't done much past that, removed the resonator, etc... but meh, no time, no cash. alfonso2501 09-28-2004, 04:47 PM Payed off the loan! And I do nothing but mantinence untill then! In a few months I'll start looking @ tires. BuiltV-TecKiller 09-29-2004, 03:35 AM S-Afc, Exhaust, Header, racing seats, CAI, new CD head unit, coilovers, rims, and bought a sleeved LS block all at once karnovking 09-29-2004, 07:15 AM i changed the oil MunG35 09-29-2004, 08:24 PM Added power locks and keyless enter/security to it, yesterday, in fact. :-D It's painful but worth it. My friend help me do it for free. So $90 was well spent on my conversion from manual to auto locks! Geeko 09-29-2004, 10:36 PM Added power locks and keyless enter/security to it, yesterday, in fact. :-D It's painful but worth it. My friend help me do it for free. So $90 was well spent on my conversion from manual to auto locks! Did you just get some OEM door lock modules, or use aftermarket? I've pondered doing that myself, mostly keyless entry is what I'm wanting, but I'd prefer an aftermarket module unless I can get an OEM that doesn't require the stock stereo... k.luvs.v 09-30-2004, 09:35 AM I don't know about you all,but I see a "mod" as anything you add on to the car that you didn't have when you bought it.So, with that said,I guess my very first "mod" would be some floor mats.As lame as it is,I then got bit by the bug and soon after added other mods, here they are in the order I got them.Viper 2-way car starter/alarm combo, tinted windows, pioneer head unit,5.25" pioneer rev series components in the front doors,6.5" pioneer rev series 2-ways in the back,Ultimate sounds platinum 4-channel amp, pioneer 6.5" in dash dvd player. Living in Canada,we get lots of snow in the winter so I'm waiting till I get a winter car before doing any exterior mods, like adding on a complete xenon bodykit, those look sharp. britts99si 09-30-2004, 11:37 AM wing/stereo/exhaust/and took off the tint. and man i did it all by myself it wasnt easy. the owner befor me had blue tint that matched the color of the car i didnt like it it made everything inside blue during the day cause of sun.. yeah not fun.
