Well I ordered a header of ebay(my mistake). I got the wrong header, not sure if its for the wrong make, it was suppose to be for a 96 civic lx. But i have a question about the cat. Since i have 2 sensors and when i install the header with the cat-back exhaust and i wont have a cat anymore, will the 02 sensors mess up my computer?? I am not a 02 sensor wizz. Please help.

You won't have a cat anymore? How does THAT work?

My cat is right after my header, as in you can see it when the hood is open. I have a full catback system with a resenator. When i install the header it will replace the cat.

The new header replaces the old. Your cat stays. Its not going anywhere.

when i added aftermarket headers to my 99 civic i had the local muffler shop widen the cat so it'd fit perfectly on there. just an idea

Eventhough my cat is like RIGHT after my exhaust manifold as in my exhaust manifold is 4 inches(each pipe)??? If anyone has a picture of how their exhaust system goes pls post it.

yes, your stock cat will be removed. and are you not getting a cat with your exhaust? its not really a cat-back without it, technically.

you have two options with your o2 sensors, you can have your shop drill holes to put them both in or you can just use one and an o2 simulator

Here is what i have on right now.
I have a 96 civic lx d16y7 engine with a stock header. After the 4 pipes going into the cat(which is facing up and in front of the engine) it goes into a smaller pipe. Then i have a test pipe and then my exhaust. Its an Invidia exhaust system.
Where will be cat be moved to??

the cat either gets moved under the car like on the ex or you dont have, and you dont have it

is it possible to use the stock cat ?? I mean i know it is, but is their any way to be sure without trying to put on the header?? Because it seems that the 2-1 part of the header is much longer than the piece after the cat.

Well, i will just buy a new cat converter on ebay for like 40 bucks. Will make things alot easier because my old cat WILL NOT work with the new exhaust system :(

if you really wanted to(i wouldnt waste the time/effort/money unless it was very little) you could cut off the ends of the stock cat and have a shop weld fittings onto the ends and put it under your car. its an idea, a bad one, but an idea nonetheless

edit: dont get one of those "high flow cats" esp off of ebay, true they provide better performance but wont do shit as far as what they are supposed to do ie you probly wont pass emissions and/or smog

Than what can i get to put between my header and my exhaust system??Because if i remove the test pipe i have a big gap between my header and exhaust system.

put the test pipe back on. what ur getting on ebay for 40$ is pretty much a test pipe. u could also go out and get an ex cat. but i would just run the test pipe. if u must have a cat then get one that is above 70$ and that actualy works like a real cat.

What would be a good company name for a good cat?? Cause the only way to run the cat with the new header for me(from looking) would be to put the cat where the test pipe is. I will be sending back the header because it is not what i wanted(quality is shitty) and instead be saving for a full turbo kit.
