Thunking noise when turningklecomp 09-22-2004, 07:27 PM Hello Everyone, This is my first post. I have a 2001 4Runner, SR5, 2WD. Lately, when I slow down and then make a right turn, I hear this thunking noise. It seems to be coming from underneath the truck around the center. It doesn't happen every single time but it does happen often. I left it at the dealership all day and they could not diagnose the problem. It is driving me crazy. Any suggestions? Brian R. 09-23-2004, 08:56 AM Is it a noise that occurs only once when you turn, or repeatedly many times during the turn? klecomp 09-23-2004, 11:38 AM It happens several times during the turn. It feels kind of like something is popping and then shifting. Brian R. 09-23-2004, 12:04 PM My first thought is to check your lugnuts for correct torque and power steering for fluid level. I will have to think about this some more. klecomp 09-23-2004, 12:19 PM Thanks. Please let me know if you think of something else. I am looking for another place to bring it besides the dealer to see if they can figure it out. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
