KA24E + turbo?christophv 09-20-2004, 01:57 PM Hey, I'm currently searching (and did this for quite a while) for a complete turbo kit for a 1989 240SX (which has an KA24E afaik) but found nothing. Only for the KA24DE - but doesn't the "D" only means "direct injection"? Is it possible to turbocharge a 1989 240SX? cu Grenyaer 09-20-2004, 09:20 PM D = Dual Cam I've never heard of anyone turboing that motor, but im not a KA guy so idk maybe they do it. You can get a decent dual cam KA though for cheap money. Ace$nyper 09-20-2004, 10:24 PM sure it can be turbod but the DOHC is a better motor to turbo imo nissanfanatic 09-20-2004, 10:55 PM There are actually quite a few people who have turboed that engine with good results. You are better off piecing together your own kit. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33632&item=7923391387 That is a good place to start. Compression test first. A good sized T3 can work very well. sRscooby 09-20-2004, 10:56 PM yes it's very possible to turbo it, the power numbers aren't far off from a DE, so that is nothing to worry about. i imagine you could use any DE kit minus the turbo manifold, and just get the mani off ebay or something, they pop up every now and then. (not 100% sure on needing just a different manifold) one place that i do know that makes a turbo kit for both DE and E is www.import-autoperformance.com just shoot em an email with questions and they'll happily respond. christophv 09-21-2004, 11:47 AM hm, seems that turbocharging a S13 240SX is more expensive than buying an euro S13 200SX with the CA18. The car would be like 600€, plus 550€ for a manifold, maybe 400-600€ for a turbo and I don't know how much for other parts - would be more than buying a S13 200SX + rebuilt + bolt-ons... :( cu vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
