99 Grand Am Dashboard Warning Lightsbcopeland 09-19-2004, 08:51 PM I have a 99 Grand Am and the dashboard warning lights stay on after I turn the key off and take them out. This all occurred after I had the key on the ignition switch replaced. Can anyone tell me why this may occur? It seems to me that somewhere in the dashboard this is the problem. Please help ASAP! :banghead: grfnkl 09-19-2004, 09:08 PM if you put the key back in and turn it to ACC and then turn it back off do the lights go off? it sounds as if there is some type of connection issue. Could be worse. I can turn my car off, come back later and find the light for the parking brake lit, no apparent reason or cause. bcopeland 09-20-2004, 10:26 AM It is similar to yours - I can turn the key off, go get a cup of Gumbo and some Chicory and an hour later, the fuel low, high beam, seat belt, all of the warning lights are still on! Can you help me out here? richtazz 09-21-2004, 03:34 PM Most crazy dash/guage/warning light problems in Grand Ams can be traced to the BCM (body control module). They are located in the passenger side kick panel and exposed to the elements as the car ages, causing them to corrode and fail. bcopeland 09-24-2004, 08:30 PM I am embarrassed to say it was the fuse. I think I'll go fishing! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
