Ferrari paint prolly dosent cost 10$ a quart either :gay:

the Saleen S7 uses special paint to adhere to the CF. ive seen a few painted carbon fiber hoods and they all seem to look fine though.

Did anyone see the Orange FD3S in Super street with the Burnt / Faded / Torn Dry carbon fiber hood that car was TeH Sexors1!!one!1

THE R34 GTR comes stock with a carbon fiber hood... if you ever take a look at stock pics you will see the weave behind the paint on the hood, it looks nice in the blue color.

Actually, it's only the V-SpecII (the one with the air intake on the hood). And yes, it can, but it's so much cooler to leave it be. :-P

True, I still only have my learner's permit. I know alot cause I read, that's all I do, I know it's sad, but cars are pretty much the only thing I have right now. lol

And for being a smart ass, I don't try to be, but sometimes it's just so easy. ;-)

And btw, before people start flaming me for whatever reason (I know alot of people don't like me) I don't think I know more then everyone, I know more then some, but I know a lot less then alot of people here.

Y'all lay off the boy, I didn't say you thought you knew, I said you know, you seem to know specs of like damn near every nissan car, which is good.

Yup, no one likes Logikal neither, but esential to keep things lively.....................just kiding, alot of folks just ask dumb questions, and wonder why folks flame them, there is nothing wrong with asking a question, but atleast take some initiative and try and find out for your damn self instead of asking a question that was answered two days ago. Damn n00bies.

Anyway, there boys out there working as internet security consultants and can't even get their learners permit, knowledge is for everyone, but experince comes with age.

Carbon Fiber can be painted, but It also depends on the current finish that is on the hood. Some carbon Fiber needs a sealer in order for the paint to hold well. Low grade carbon fiber (ie: the stuff that they make our hoods out of) can secreet a small amount of gas when it gets hot, This can cause some paint adhearing problems.

High Grade carbon Fiber (ie: what is spec'd by nasa, and most of the aircraft industry) will not do this

Chances are that it is 100% ok for you to paint your hood though
