'91 cutlas super won't stay runningtraylor01 09-17-2004, 05:08 PM Motor turns, but won't idle. can keep it going if i push on the gas a little. started fine this a.m., but now nothing. as soon as i let off the gas it dies. no sputtering or anything, just quits. did a diagnostic with the ab jump and just get the 12. no useable codes. HELP ME...... :banghead: richtazz 09-24-2004, 04:50 PM sounds like the TPS (throttle position switch) went bad or is out of adjustment, or the IAC (idle air control) isn't adjusting fuel mixture at idle. traylor01 09-24-2004, 05:34 PM tried the throttle position switch no go, then took the air control off and cleaned the "soot" off of the plunger. it ran pretty good, later did the same thing. ran my gas down to "E" one foot on brake and on on gas at lights, that was fun. then i refilled and put fuel injector cleaner in the tank, runs rough now and then, but seems to be getting better. also reset the ecm by disconnecting the battery overnight. don't have to use two feet anymore. thanks for the advice!! crossing my fingers... randy vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
