You shouldnt need a roll cage at the track unless your running like 12s or lower i think

he might need a helmet but usually you can pull off one run before they tell you to get lost.

here it's 11.99 and under for a roll cage, and 13.99 and under for a helmet.

so you can run a 12.00 and not need a roll cage, but if you run a 11.99 you. as if the force of impact is sooo much less at 12 than 11.9

What do you guys think an 89 Z28 with an LT1/T56 swap that has the normal mods (exhaust, cold air, blah blah) with a 4.10 or 3.73 gear (don't know wich yet) and street legal radials run (in sig)? Would it still be an acceptable street car still...?

thats a tough question; actually over in the street racing forum there is a really long debate about what is too fast for a street car. i dont think there is a definite limit, most people go by quarter mile time cause of what you have to do to a car to get a certain time. general concensus is that 12s and under is too fast for the street. you have to make the call as to whether the car is safe enough and pratical enough to drive on the street...
