95 accord, anyone else have a noisy engine?psgrn 09-16-2004, 04:35 PM There really isn't any abnormal noise, except that the cylinders seem a bit louder, ... as in a louder clicking noise that normal.. A friend and I adjusted the valves, but this didn't seem to help much. The engine has about 130,000 miles on it. I am wondering if this is fairly normal for this car, and if there's possibly a way to correct it? Thanks, Paul phoenixitc 09-16-2004, 05:22 PM I have 116k on my 95 engine. No valve noise from mine. Is it constant, at all operating temps? psgrn 09-17-2004, 11:07 AM I notice it more when it's cold. Though the valve adjustment didn't seem to work. I think we either didn't do it right, or it is something else. phoenixitc 09-17-2004, 11:17 AM Ok... I know what you are referring to. I have this also when the engine is cold, goes away after a few minutes of driving. AccordCodger 09-17-2004, 12:18 PM Some Accords seem to have noisier valves than others. Doesn't seem to be a big deal. cglenn2a 09-25-2004, 01:51 AM I would also agree. Hondas have fairly loud valves. But if you are nervous, cough up the $150 it cost for a valve adjustment from the shop. Otherwise, if it runs smooth, dont worry. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
