performance 3.8L v-6TransAm_Ownr 09-13-2004, 01:55 PM does anyone know some great performance parts for my 00' firebid 3.8L V6? kman10587 09-13-2004, 01:56 PM Turbocharge it and put a 'Grand National' badge on the back. TransAm_Ownr 09-13-2004, 01:58 PM why turbo supercharging is better cause you get more psi kman10587 09-13-2004, 01:59 PM No, turbo is better. Supercharging is easier and cheaper. Head over to the Forced Induction section of AF, you'll see what I mean. The turbo thing was a joke. Heard of the Buick Regal Grand National? TransAm_Ownr 09-13-2004, 02:01 PM No, turbo is better. Heard of the Buick Regal Grand National? i didnt even get it but i do now...im an idiot kman10587 09-13-2004, 02:03 PM Haha, anyways, the 3.8L V6 is a stout motor. There are plenty of good turbo and S/C kits for it, and a large aftermarket due to cars like the Grand Prix GTP and Regal GS. If you are on a budget, I'd go with a supercharger, but if you wanna build a maximum performance vehicle, stick w/ turbo. BleedDodge 09-13-2004, 03:42 PM About that poll thing, there is no such thing as a 3.4 Mustang. TransAm_Ownr 09-27-2004, 12:53 PM people underestimate the power of the 3800...its pretty powerful but still not as powerful as the LS1. For some reason tho I still want to make the 3800 lift up. Hypsi87 10-31-2004, 09:18 PM people underestimate the power of the 3800...its pretty powerful but still not as powerful as the LS1. For some reason tho I still want to make the 3800 lift up. Thats my new project. And it will be a hard one. Get a Grand National engine. people underestimate the power of the 3800...its pretty powerful but still not as powerful as the LS1. For some reason tho I still want to make the 3800 lift up. Thats my new project. And it will be a hard one. Get a 1989 Turbo Trans Am. Then you will think otherwise of the 3.8 Savage Messiah 01-31-2007, 01:47 PM Jesus christ. Don't go to intense, they have a horrible rep for their parts all breaking and costing people engines and trannys. firebirdv6.com fucking sucks. theres more fiction then fact there. Plus, how much faith do you have in a site that charges members $10 just to have the "privileges" of a signature and avatar. shoot on over to www.fullthrottlev6.com... there are people running n/a, cam only, heads/cam, nitrous, cam/nitrous, turbo, turbo/nitrous, supercharged, supercharged/nitrous, and at least 1 4.2L stroker in the works... search over there and you can fine whatever info you're lookign for. In terms of how strong the block is... Intense and ZZP both have their cars in the 9's on stock bottom ends. Nobody has ever found the power limits of the bottom end, and 9's are friggin fast. I'd recommend you browse thunder racing, TSP, abbott racing heads if you wanna do heads or cam (Also I will be running a TCI torque converter I purchased through them), UMI for suspension (spohn also makes quality stuff but UMI has better pricing), and then either TSP or PCM4Less for tuning unless you want to learn how to do it yourself, in which case pick up HPTuners. FWIW Swapping to a series 1 3800 is not a direct, easy swap. The only thing that's the same about those and the series 2's are the displacement and the fact that they're GM engines. Savage Messiah 01-31-2007, 01:48 PM BTW stock for stock a 3.8 f-body destroys 3.8 stangs without breaking a sweat. Modified it's a little different, they have a much better aftermarket than us. Savage Messiah 01-31-2007, 01:50 PM oh shit how the FUCK did this get kciked up!??!?!?! It was at the top already, I swear to god..... and no I did not even look at who the post before me was... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
