I have a 93 4cyl. Camry LE. The car runs great most of the time but once in a while it will idle rough. I changed the plugs, wires, cap & rotor and cleaned the throttle body also changed the fuel filter. Still no luck. Anyone have an answer?

Under what conditions does it idle rough?

Mostly when it has run for about 20mins. or so. I have had it idle rough at start up once.

Also if I put the car in park and give it a little tap on the gas it idles fine again.

my 92 5spd does that too sometimes, it just all of a sudden drops to 500 rpm or so and sorta vibrates a bit then goes back up to norman, i have replaced distributer less then 2k ago and i really dont know why it does it

If not PCV valve, try cleaning your injectors.

I added a fuel additive to clean the injectors and also a spray to the throttle body. no luck. I will try a pcv valve tomorrow. I don't think thats it. After looking at some of the other posts it seems I may need to try and clean the EGR valve. Any thoughts?

Anything is good if it's free.

Well I think I got it working. I was reading another post and it said to spray some WD-40 into the IAC valve. So I gave it a shot and have given it a few weeks and no more rough idle. :licka:

That happens 4-5 times /year in my 95 camry. Since I am to lazy to take the air intake to spray a cleaner into the AIC air inlet in the TB, I just use the p port of the Throtle Body to spray some cleaner. probably the best is to take apart the AIC valve and clean it..... rusted screws etc, keep me away from doing it....
