alright cleaned my smic and piping and boost leak tested. found a leak on my 2g bov of course and on my tb. the leak isnt on the tb gastkets or the biss screw. its behind the tb where the throttle cable spring thing is at. i sprayed soapy water and i cant see the leak but i can hear it. if i barely touch the spring liek to the point wehre it doesnt even move but there is some pressure on it... then i can hear the leak stop. so is this fixalbe or do i need a new tb.

dunno much about 2gs but if it doesnt leak when the throttle is open then i wouldnt worry about it since you dont boost at idle.

thats the thing to its very sensitive. it will leak when closed for sure and will leak if open. it just doesnt leak when you barly press on it

i would try putting new gaskets on the throttle body before i replaced it.

There are shaft seals on either end of the shaft. One behind the TPS sensor, and one behind the spring you are talking about. You can get them from MACHv.com, or from other sources listed in various vfaqs. I replace these seals on all of my TBs, and on the NT tb I had to swap in turbo seals to stand up to boost pressure. Its not a hard job, but you have to take your time and be sure to do it right.

this should get added to the FAQ [or a small snipet of the bulk of info]

WOW... sounds very familiar... I finally made my boost leak tester... I have the first leak start at that same spring and if I push it a little it stops...after more pressure is added there is air noise from under the intake manifold!!! other than that everything is fine......How much time should I expect if I were to replace the intake minfold gasket and thr. body seals? How much $ would I be looking at also? Any words of wisdom as to the process? hidden oopses or anything!! lol

I believe on a 2g one of the block to intake manifold bracket bolts goes through the manifold, could be a leak there. Otherwise, there is nothing under the manifold. Injector seals are much more likely than IM gasket failure, thats very rare. Did you use some soapy water to try to track it down? There are some weird acoustics in the engine bay, it can be very hard to tell where the sounds are coming from in my experience.

As far as I can tell it was from the bottom side of the IManifold... No wind out and used a cigarette/smoke... no smoke movement from above.... I'll try the soapy water next...
As for the injector seals... Aren't they just little O-Rings...just pull the fuel rail off and the injectors pull out.?
