I am sitting on two neons with good bodies/trannies, but bad engines. One has a blown head gasket, the other has antifreeze in the oil.

I have located several engines for replacement/repair. Where can I get info on compatibility. The neons I have are 95's, and the engine I've located is a 96. The 8th VIN code is the same (C), but does that guarantee me a perfect fit?

If its the same engine it will most likely fit the blocks should be the same.
