Midas checked my car and told me to replace my two front rotors. The mechanic said:" The thickness of your rotor is 0.80XX, while the minimum thickness is 0.78XX, so you need to replace them."
Is it correct?

many thanks

I looked up your 1998 Camry rotor specs on www.autozone.com. For the front rotors, the minimum machining thickness is 1.039. Not sure why the discrepancy. I'd rather believe the mechanic at Midas, but ONLY after making him show you the specification data he is using. In addition, rotors are fairly cheap, easy to do, though a little dirty. I would recommend replacing them along with your pads. When it comes to drums, I'd let midas do the dirty work.
