Question : While highway driving does the car really go over 85MPH? The Digital odometer only reads 85 and dosent go over...So I can swear when I hit the gas on the highway I'm really going faster then 85... Am I really going faster then 85? maby about 90ish I think:sunglasse

Question Two : My outside temp thing shows dosent work right... It shows usally a rating of about 30ish below... however when you leave the car to sit for about a day it will and start it late, it will show the normal temp (like 70F) How do I fix this?

Question Three :
My cigarette lighter dosent charge my cell phone, could it be a fuse?

Question Four : How do I set the outside keypad to unlock my door

First off, don't make broad generalizations or smartass comments in thinking no one wants to help you. This board is small and if you notice the threads and posts generally don't get replies for days. So learn to be a little patient.

To answer your questions, your speedometer is limited to 85 mph it will go no higher. In 1992 when the Town Car recieved the AODE transmission it would then go higher than 85 mph.

For your problematic temp sensor it probably needs to be replaced. It is mounted behind grill.

Try the lighters in the back doors. If they also do not work then you may want to look at the fuses. Tough to say what it could be though.

You don't set a combination it has one that cannot be changed. It consists of 5 numbers. You can set your own if you'd like but it does not replace the original. There are stickers with the factory code in the car. Try the support arms in the trunk, sometimes there may be a label there. If not it is on the PCM/EEC in the firewall (the engines computer).

I love the digital speedometer. It always surprises passengers in my car. They think its cool.

First off STFU.

Second this is a message board, just because you make a thread does not mean people have to respond. Do your trolling else where.

And if you wanted to bump the topic you could have worded it better than to use condescending remarks.

Well D. The car is definately going faster than 85, I'd imagine the car could easily do far over 100, I have the same thing in my '87 and I too, hate it. I assume thats just how the speed sensor is since the analog instrumentation tops at 85. Anyone know how to fix it?

As far as your door code goes heres how it works:

You'll need the factory code, if its not where ltdltc said it might be check under your dash on the very side of the car on the passenger side, there might be a box in there with a sticker on it.

Enter that code the door unlocks, hit the "3/4" button and all doors unlock, hit the "5/6" button and the trunk pops, or use the "1/2" button and then enter your own 5 digit code to set a personal code. On my '87 (and probably your '90) you can keep one personal in addition to the unchangable-without-opening-the-module-and-f***ing-with-the-resistors-inside factory code. You can also use the "7/8" and "9/0" buttons pushed together to lock the doors. Do it with the door closed and the alarm will not arm, door open and the alarm will arm (indicated by a solid-on ALARM light for a few seconds afterward, you can also lock the door with the power lock button with the door open and arm the alarm the same way.

As far as your lighter goes, check the other lighters, check another car to see if its your charger. May be a fuse, but otherwise the lighter may have come unwired. These are simple little devices consisting of nothing more complex than 2 wires leading into a connector. A new one could easily be home installed if necessary.
