Rusty Gas Tankjarnkm 09-06-2004, 07:14 PM Gosh!!! People must not be having problems any more. I picked up a '93 Merceded 230E, gray market car, that had been sitting for 4 years with a bad fuel pump and damaged wiring an idiot mechanic tried to fix. I cut open the tank to get to the synthetic air vent canister and the rediculous anti-slosh canister and filter system. I've sand blasted it but, the humidity has been terrible and it will rust even under the coating of oil. I am leary of some marketed repair kits because of the intricacy of the vent and fuel exit system getting clogged. Any suggestions, besides the ungodly priced new tank? Thanks! That said, this is probably the way to go: http://www.por15.com/tankseal_fuelpreserve.html Site seems to be on the blink at the moment, this should give you an idea of what it is though: http://www.canada-por15.com/por-15-tank-sealer.htm Brent vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
