Bad PhotoshopSchludwiller 05-30-2001, 01:57 AM Has anyone besides me seen the Xterra 2-page ad going around in magazines lately? It has the headline "Couch for Sale". Anway, they put mud on the truck in Photoshop. Any respectable Xterra owner who takes his truck offroad would realise that mud doesn't spray up on the truck that way. Fake Mud - Bah. ChuckH 05-30-2001, 02:29 AM Can you post it? Speaking of Xterra advertising, did you get the flyer from Bellevue Nissan with the Xterra driving on the beach? I think I should take it in if my alternator goes out and tell them they inspired me to drive in water! :D Aquamander 05-30-2001, 05:05 PM HAHAHA, It's in my June issue of Bicycling. What a hoot. Looks like the wheels are spinning so fast they are keeping the mud and dirt off the treads too! WTF is that on the tires anyway? Armor-all? :bloated: However, even with the fake mud and other obvious showroom X-appeal, it looks way better than that 2002 Mountaineer 5 pages back....Yet another hideous SUV from Mercury. Looks like the boys at Mercury need to change the bongwater. It almost has an Avante' looking headlight. No help with the looks of the grill assembly. The catch phrase is "At last, the SUV built for here, is here." It's sitting in the middle of a city. ToeJam 05-30-2001, 05:23 PM I think the ultimate humor about those adds are Nissan has taken off the mud flaps. I've seen the beach add and there are no flaps! Even the folks making the adds know how worthless they are!! Actually, it is probably so they can use the same picture in Canada and the US.......
