I've been promoting this board as a photo/bandwidth heavy site, cause that's what I like to see.

For future reference what's your connection speed?

$0/month ADSL limited at about 1.5Mbps... My company designs the phone companies'
ADSL equipment, so they pay for use to use it. Guess it's for beta testing and a perk.

100 Mbit ethernet via several T1 connections from the hole, er, office.

Buy.com has D-Link DI-704 4-port Cable/DSL routers for 89.99 plus $30 rebate.

Hell, 89.95 wasn't a bad price on it, $59.99 is a GREAT deal.

I just bought one.

Yeah, don't get too excited yet. Excite@Home which provides the access to cable services like Comcast is about to go belly up. Service could be cut as early as today to many. Hope mine doesn't go out!

Mine is about 1.1mbps-1.3mbps all the time. It depends on the speed of the other end.

www.dslreports.com :

Your download speed : 1973854 bps, or 1973 kbps.

Your connection rocks .. above the 1mbit barrier!

Your download speed : 2089407 bps, or 2089 kbps.
A 255 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 6179196 bps, or 6179 kbps.

I believe that this is a limitation of the test server. I regularly download at rates over 800KB/sec. Multiple ATM circuits going into the campus :)

I only get around 500kb. The service (Bellsouth ADSL) is rated up to 1.5Mb but we're near the 2 mile wire length so our performance drops off a bit... But its still a hell of alot better than dialup!
