All connections good, fuses test ok (cannot hear fuel pump, but have never heard one on this vehicle ...... Suggestions? ECM or ....???? You need about 65 psi of fuel pressure to overcome the springs in the injector poppets. If you have pressure, next would be to check for injector pulse. I have had a few of these where the poppets were stuck and the vehicle would not start...there is a procedure to fix this using some special tools from GM Jeremy-WI 08-30-2004, 07:06 PM Is the Security light on? elstodghill 08-31-2004, 09:21 AM You need about 65 psi of fuel pressure to overcome the springs in the injector poppets. I just went out and tried to start it after it sitting for 2 days and it fired right up. This means that it is an intermittent problem, the hardest to troubleshoot. Another responder asked if the security light was staying on. It does not. Also, the 'Service Engine Soon' light stayed on. This happened last week also. I had the code read at Auto Zone and it showed code P1331. When it was not starting, I checked the fuel rail connection (bleader valve) and the pressure was no where near what would spray out if the pressure was 65 PSI, although I realize that it was only residual pressure left in the line. I live 75 miles from the nearest dealer (out in the country in eastern Colorado, so towing the vehicle that far is not something I want to do...... Suggestions? elstodghill 08-31-2004, 09:23 AM Is the Security light on? No. The security light goes off if the key is turned on and left on for about 10 seconds without trying to start it. Ok. I have a broken nut clip holding one of the fuel tank straps keeping me from getting the tank out. Not the easiest pump to get to, is it? elstodghill 09-13-2004, 04:23 PM Anyone have a suggestion as to how to get the gas tank out without cutting and replacing the straps? elstodghill 09-13-2004, 04:25 PM Is there an aftermarket external fuel pump that could be used in place of the one inside the tank?
