Clicking noise from the steering wheel areaskooby 02-07-2002, 06:27 PM Has anyone else have this issue other than me? Response appreciated! ~skooby Speechless 02-12-2002, 04:00 PM No, never heard of that problem. hondaluvr97 02-17-2002, 10:16 AM I dont know about the steering wheel area, but a clicking noise when you turn usually means your CV joints are bad. This happened on my old car. Might wanna get that checked. Speechless 02-18-2002, 10:29 AM ....it's a BOMB......RUUUNNNNNN!!!! skooby 02-19-2002, 10:04 AM I've noticed that it only happens under cold temperature but then it's not constant...just once in a while. Anywayz, my car is due for a maintenance checkup, so i'll have them check that out too. Thanks for the replies^^ Speechless 02-20-2002, 11:23 AM Well Skooby, if it is not a bomb, and it only happens on cold weather for the first minute or so of driving, there's a good possibility that it's your speedo. Is it more of a chigga chigga chigga chigga sound? that goes faster once you accelerate, then goes away after 2 minutes? Your speedo might just need a little lube here and there. Nothing serious. I'm guessing it's not very loud at all, and sounds like it's coming from behind your instrument panel? skooby 02-20-2002, 12:59 PM <Speechless> It's the same tone as the turn signal. And yes it's around the instrument panel area. Umm....what's a speedo? Thanks ~Skooby Speechless 02-20-2002, 01:25 PM A speedo is an undergarment-like garb for swimming with a garter most commonly worn by large hairy european men. Okay seriously now, I meant the speedometer. jugle002 06-22-2004, 04:24 PM I had the same problem. The mechanic told me that there is a losen speedometer cable that keep hitting on the dash board. He is going to charge me $250 for the fix. $35 for the part and the REST is LABOR!!! can you believe it?! Anyway, any help on fixing it? where is the speedometer cable and how do i tighten it? skooby 06-23-2004, 05:02 PM I had the same problem. I don't think you need to fix it. I've have this problem for about 3 years now and it doesn't seem to cause anything. The shop is just trying to rip you off. jugle002 06-24-2004, 12:57 PM but, the problem is... I need to sell the car. people who came to check out the car are worried about the sound... thought it is some kind of engine or transmission problem. sigh vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
