My blazer is making a squeeking noise when i drive, it isnt that noticable until i drive next to a fence or something that reflects the noise back to me. What are my possibilities. Also I notice that a squeeking noise outside the car occurs when i let off my breaks could these be related? Thanks

you are close to having your brakes wear out.

You are on your indicators which squeek just before you need new pads.

Get it checked out.

Nope, they squeak when the brakes are NOT applied.

If its not that, then the most common thing is a siezed caliper.

It might not be any of those things. My 2000 Blazer has the same problem and it's not worn out brake pads or a seized caliper. I haven't tracked the cause down yet but it's not wheel hub/bearings either. I've cleaned the rotors and applied stop squeal to the backs of the front pads but not the rear. At any rate, the noise is still present. I'll keep looking.

It's the pads.

Are they new? How much pad depth do you have?

My pads are brand new (5-7k on them). The only thing I've really considered as a cause is crappy pads. I opted for the lower priced ones instead of the ceramic pads. It might be something I'll just have to live with unless I replace with better quality before these wear out.

check the pad depth left.
