Coilovers on stock shocksdriverfound 08-28-2004, 05:53 AM could someone explain to me all of the reasons why it is bad to put coilovers on your stock shocks? and could you tell me if it is possible to do so? thank you for your time justchad25 08-28-2004, 02:04 PM it is very possible but it will drastically reduce the life of your shocks thus they will blow sooner and youll have to replace them other than that they wont give as good of a ride unholy 08-30-2004, 02:20 AM If you are going to buy a coilover usually they already come with the new struts mounted on the coilover spring. you can just buy the spring but you would be further ahead to buy the coilover assembly instead of just the spring. you will need to replace your struts eventually anyway. lkailburn 08-30-2004, 09:27 AM ^^yes tru coilovers come with the coilovers and struts as one peice.. but what most of us "ricers" think of when someone says coilovers are just the slip over sleeved coilovers. do it all at once. save yourself the time and hassle and the aggrevation of blowing a strut while your driving around somewhere Miataracer 08-31-2004, 01:20 AM coil over sleeves are not all rice. ground control is a highly used coil over in scca racing and works well vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
