Hello everyone! I have read alot here but never posted. My 1992 blazer has a problem and am looking for suggestions of its cause. The vehicle idles fine when the AC is off. Once the AC is turned on it idles low then high. it gets itself so low that it stalls or catches itself and revs up again. This happens when in park sitting in the driveway . Any ideas??

Thanks in advance

Ken

The first thing that comes to mind is a vacuum leak. You might check the A/C control in the dash, and vacuum lines under the hood. How long has this been going on? Did it start doing this suddenly, or after some other repair? Have you tried any other maintenece?

Actually I bought the blazer about 2 months ago and it never was hot enough to even use it so I'm not sure how long it has actually been going on. I've done nothing for maintainance to the balzer that is anywheres near the AC stuff.

Does the A/C seem to work, the A/C compressor turning over o.k.?

Yeah, it seems to be in working order, blows cold air, just doesn't idle

clean or replace the Idle air control valve.
