I have a 95' GC
when i turn left it sqeeks, not to loud, but driving me nuts. I took it to sears auto center, they said nothing is loose on the front end, he said maybe its the steering stablize unit, it looks like a shock. Only sqeeks when turn left , turning right is fine. Does it need to be replaced or can it be oiled some how, and if i need to replace, how much?

Thanks!!

Could be a bad steering stabilizer, bushings gone or somethin'. Contact your local Jeep dealer or an off road store, they can give you a price.

The steering stabilizer does look like a shock absorber only it is installed in a horizontal position.

Instead of replacing it outright, remove it and take a short low speed test drive to see if the squeek is still there.

Thats a good idea.. But would it be hard to remove since all my bolts are pretty rusted?

Or WD-40, my personal favorite. I kinda like the smell of it. Woah, was that oversharing? ;)

just sayin what others are thinkin

On a more serious note -
WD40 isn't as good as it was since they took out the propane propelant.

Not as effective at locating vacuum leaks and worn throttle shafts as it used to be.
