*Finished Ferrari 360 Modena*S Brake 02-06-2002, 11:45 PM I started this model about a week ago, and so far I've begun assembling the chassis, put 3 coats of primer on the body and 1 coat of red paint, and trust me it is red. the lighting in the room makes it look pink. http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/973973360chassis.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/400623360prime1.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/722728360prime3.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/879974360paint.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/538201360paint3.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/327070360paint4.jpg JE123 02-06-2002, 11:50 PM So far so good. You need to do something with the lighting though.:p :p S Brake 02-06-2002, 11:53 PM Originally posted by JE123 So far so good. I'll be interested to see how that looks! tazdev 02-07-2002, 03:38 AM Man you weren't kidding when you said that it looked pink:( Never seen a pink ferrari before:flipa: G-Forces 02-07-2002, 02:18 PM Well here's another kit I want! :( This forum is bad for my wallet. ;) Good start there. :D primera man 02-07-2002, 04:51 PM I was looking at this kit yesterday and it really is a great looking kit. Pity about the price of it here, $75.00NZD which is getting very dear for a model here. You could buy two Tamiya GTR32's for that price S Brake 02-07-2002, 05:54 PM Originally posted by Guiddy You decided to place the sills on after painting then! I'll be interested to see how that looks! I put them on last night, i guess it just slipped my mind to attach the buggers. maybe all the fumes got to me. i just added the second coat of paint and also sprayed the rearview mirrors and the headlights cluster mold. Pity about the price of it here, $75.00NZD which is getting very dear for a model here. I find the prices of the newer kits are a about 10-20% more than the average 2+year old kits. That's why I'm going to wait and get one later. I don't think they will be too hard to find. ;) tazdev 02-08-2002, 03:38 PM the 360 Spider Guiddy is doing costs $70NZ in my local model shop, why do ferraris allways have to be expensive? Jay! 02-08-2002, 03:40 PM Because Ferrari charges Tamiya huge licensing fees. There should be a little tag/sticker on the front of the box that's numbered and says it's Official Ferrari Merchandise. That tag costs you. S Brake 02-08-2002, 09:08 PM I just added the third and final coat of paint and i am now painting assembling the engine and chassis, i just need 2 more colors to arrive so i can dive in full speed. Jay! 02-08-2002, 09:14 PM It's not still pink, is it? :p tazdev 02-08-2002, 10:48 PM such a nice bright pink it was too:D 4x4 Cactus 02-09-2002, 03:44 AM you should see this i bought a tamiya testarossa for $8now its 15.. an f-40 $9 now 13. its really going up currency conversion $1=P50 S Brake 02-09-2002, 02:13 PM Originally posted by jay@af It's not still pink, is it? :p it never was pink:finger4: Originally posted by tazdev such a nice bright pink it was too:D :finger4: ITS RED! ales 02-09-2002, 02:36 PM Originally posted by snowboarder :finger4: ITS RED! Coming along nicely too I see.:) primera man 02-11-2002, 03:47 AM Those pics are alot better !!....looking good :) :) Guiddy 02-11-2002, 07:56 AM Taking the pics without using the flash will keep it red! Coming along well! What shade of red is it? S Brake 02-11-2002, 05:38 PM Its just Testors red, #1203. I'm also thinking i'm going to add a 360 grille like this one (http://www.ferrariofdenver.com/cars/ferrari/ferrari.cfm?ID=454) , so i'd just paint the back flat black. i'm also wondering what kind of paint i would use to get the look of that tan carpet. So. can anyone help me on this, or am i going to be ignored... please:( Guiddy 02-11-2002, 06:50 PM Don't paint it, spray it, and use semi gloss! Otherwise use carbon decal, one that is a non direction weave! Don't know about the carpet! Jay! 02-11-2002, 06:52 PM Flat tan? ( :right: ) I used plain Tamiya flat red for the floorboard in my S2000, and everyone seems to think that it looks carpet-y enough. For the tan leather: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t12874.html S Brake 02-11-2002, 06:56 PM thanks for the reply, i'll go buy some semi gloss. would it look wierd with black carpet? i am doing a black dash so it won't look too wierd. if you guys veto that idea then i'll check for some flat tan/wood paint. Guiddy 02-11-2002, 06:59 PM If you are going for the tan interior do it as Ferrari did, as per the instructions. It is the right balance. picks off the net will help you! Make sure you get a spray black. You using Tamiya sprays? Jay! 02-11-2002, 06:59 PM Are you doing the tan interior or not? You haven't shown us yet... Or are you saving it for last? S Brake 02-11-2002, 07:03 PM i'm doing a tan leather interior with a black dash like the one i posted earlier.and i'm using mostly tamiya paints except for the leather which is modellers brand or something like that. S Brake 02-19-2002, 10:49 PM I didn't have time to work on this model over the weekend because i was in washington but today i went and picked up the rest of my paints and so far i've got the engine and interior almost done. here are some pics. http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/822906P1010023.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/844343P1010024.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/471981P1010025.JPG S Brake 02-24-2002, 07:25 PM all i have left to do is paint the window rubbers, glue on the rear view mirrors and put on the license plates. pictures tomorrow.
