Blech. I just don't like SUVs, no matter how fancy.

I do really like Audi's plain ol' wagons, though! So, put it back on car tires and cut the ground clearance by about 70%, and I'll like it just fine. :licker:

It is incredibly cool. But it wouldnt be good for a heck of alot. For the money, you could make a much more fun dune runner, so it seems pointless to me, no matter how cool.

I like audi for the wagons. They are a much better alternative to SUV's. And who says you cant have luxury and utility??

I'm with you!!! Lets do a little comparo..

Wagon SUV
good handling poor, sloppy handling
fast(er) slow(er)
good mileage bad mileage
good cargo capacity good cargo capacity
fun to drive un-fun to drive

As we can see, SUV's suck, and wagons rule:)

the only 2 SUVs worth mentioning are the BMW X5 and mercedes G-Class. Apart from that they are all crap.:smoker:

An X5 has almost no off-road capability. I dont really see a place for it. It cant tow a lot or hold alot of stuff. If you need to go to the cottage, buy a 10 year old blazer and a 5 series.

The G-wagon rules off road:D

As down on SUVs as I am, I must add two others to the "respectable" list: Toyota LandCruiser and Chevy/GMC Suburban. Wagons are still better, though.

compare it to the Audi All-Road... it's like a beefed up wagon, more than a wagon but less than an SUV

Guess you guys didn't see the V12 X5 prototype then. It's a freaking race car SUV that can handle and go in a straightline. Anyways more than half SUV owner never go off-roading. So manfucature build SUV with limited off-road capability and more car like handling. The only way to stop it is to not support it. SUV sales are down this year compare to last year. I still don't get why toyota/lexus put out 4 new SUV this 1 and half year.

There are many types of SUV on the market. Truck based SUV and car based SUV are very different. To classified them as one whole is unfair.

That X5 had the LeMans engine that was un-restricted. It lapped the Nurburgring (sp, I know it), the old one, in under 8 minutes!!!!

And its 98% of SUV owners who never go off-road.

I know of only one person who needs a truck. He has an old one to plow the driveway and haul junk. He wants to get a Maxima, though, for everyday.

Why are people so stupid???
