turn signal clicker

The turn signal clicker on my 98 blazer remains on while i am driving. It cuts out intermittently, but is on the majority of the time except for when the brakes are on. The lights and switch turn on and off fine, but the clicker stays on, so i am assuming that the clicker is drawing power from some other source. I would normally start pulling things apart on my on and test to find the short or replace the part, but i am at school and don't have a garage so i am trying to save time by getting any other suggestions first. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks

Only way you are going to solve this is to check it out bro.

Check for wire breaks etc...

after doing some checking around, i think that it is the multi-function switch (not what I wanted to hear at about $185). I found some other forums where people had the exact same problem... At that price i'm definitely going to try and solve it any other way that i can and keep my fingers crossed. Thanks

Check the wrecking yard and grab the switch off a wrecked S10 or blazer.

but what exactly is a multifunction switch?? I'm having the same trouble with a 98 blazer. I've tried changing the combination flasher and that didn't work. Thanks.

the flasher is not the switch, the swith is on the column to activate the flasher.

Just had this same problem. Replaced the multifunction switch and it cleared up the clicking.

what is involved in replacing the switch, is it all in the steering column? Just started happening to me and would like to have it fixed before winter arrives
if you could offer some advice, that would be great.
Thanks
