Here a few photos of Tamiya's 1/24th Subaru XT Coupe, also known as the Alcyone. An interesting older Tamiya curbside kit, picked up of Ebay, with the old-style tub interior and minimal underbody detail. Funny that, sounds like the new STi kit! :screwy:

Anyway, kit was done out of the box. The paint is not TS-50 Mica Blue, although it did turn out pretty close in the end. Set of Fujimi wheels to update it a bit. Unfortunately the windscreen is cracked, though for such an old kit that is no surprise. All in all a nice kit to work with.

I like it, wheels look good on it.

lol. Car And Driver used an old XT in their beater car contest. (Camaro RS + NOS VS a Fiat or something VS one of these old XT's..)

I saw one of these kits in Florida at a hobby shop; now I realize I should've bought it. Very nice work!!:sunglasse

Looks great in the modern Scooby colors. :sunglasse

Don't see many around anymore. 1:1 or the kit.

I built this one many years ago when it was a new kit, ended up swapping the rims from a Lexus SC 400 onto it:

The hood vent is missing, but I do have the original rims for it.

Thanks for the comment guys. It was a very easy kit to work with, everything fitted nicely and not loads of imperfections. When I bought the kit of Ebay (in the UK) there were quite a few popping up for decent money - I think I paid about £15 including postage for mine. However I have not seen any since. Actually, purchasing this kit kindled a bit nostalgia in me, as I then won auctions for the old Tamiya Celica ST165 GT4 and Audi Quattro road cars. Looking forward to doing these ones.
