CA18DET vs. SR20DET vs. VG30DETTpnoiSR20 08-23-2004, 11:50 PM Which engine is easier to install into a 510? Which one requires less fabrication? :screwy: Please help blur510 08-25-2004, 03:20 AM I know the sr and the vg are hard swaps... i think the vg is harder than the sr not sure about the ca... mega man 08-25-2004, 05:52 PM i would have to say go with the fj20 i believe there is some info on the swap at dimequarterly. but i think you should go for k24 because you can easily find the motor and parts would be easy to get. i know the vg 30 is easy to get but itll be quite difficullt putting such a large motor in. and if u intend on doing some autoxing a vg 30 would kill your weigt distirbution. pnoiSR20 08-25-2004, 11:51 PM thanks man mega man 08-26-2004, 12:17 AM no problem blur510 08-26-2004, 08:07 PM How hard is it to get the FJ? i know the KA is abundant right now since most people are going SR, KA will be an awesome choice since it has a good amount of torque. So when are you gonna do the swap? keep us posted. blur my car http://www.sounddomain.com/memberpage/672830 mega man 08-26-2004, 10:41 PM the fj isnt to easy to get because its not a popular swap for other vehicles like 240's so its not a very well known engine outside of japan and australia. but you should be able to find some companies that will be able to get one for you, if your looking. i guess one of the reason a fj is so great in a 510 is because its intended for a much heavier car, unlike the sr20 and the ca 18, but the sr 20 did also come in the cefiros and bluebirds and some other crap. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
