've purchased aftermarket fog lites for my 2001 WJ and wanted to know this thing:
don't want to want to install them the conventional way (i.e. through battery and a switch) but want to hook them into the parking lites circuit. If I splice them into the circuit should I have any problems with fuses after the fact?? Fog lites will have theyer own fuse too.
Is there a better way to do it or this will work just fine??

The extra draw may cause a problem with the switch or fuse.

The best way is to power a relay from the switch and draw the power for the lites through the relay from the battery.

Other ways will work too but that would be my prefered way.

tHANKS FOR THE RESPONSE.

In that case, any idea where to find an opening to feed wire through the firewall into the cabin??

Through the boot next to the steering column sometimes works or next to an existing wire where there is already a gromet.

If you have to drill - select the location carefully, drill large enough to use a gromet. In both cases it is best to support the wire with a cable tie to another wire or cable on each side of the fire wall.
