intermitent light problem

I own a 2000 chevy venture that until now has been trouble free.
Last Saturday I went on a trip and it rained for about 1-1/2 hr. On my way back at night time, the lights started flashing intermitentely as if the van was equiped with an alarm system (which is not). All interior, exterior and dash lights started flashing and I had to pull over. I checked all fuses and they seemed fine. I shut off the van and started it again and within a minute it was doing it again. The mechanic found nothing wrong with it.
Does someone has had similar experience or has a fix for it?
any help will be appreciated.

You are getting water condensation from AC inside the car that is causing electrical problems. You need to drain the water outside the car, there is an extension the dealer can install for you (about 20 dollars) and then you need to dry out the car, remove the carpet and check for rotten wires, check the wire diagram in the manual. Buena suerte!!!!

I will do just that. Your statement makes sense since it was very humid and it rained a lot.
thanks

If you have a roof rack, I would bet the water got in through the mounting bolts that they half-ass seal from the factory. Go get yourself a tube of clear silicone, and remove the bolts one at a time ( there are eight of them) . Put a decent size bead around the threads of each bolt and screw them back down. that should re-seal them and eliminate your lighting problem.

I will do that as well. it's weird that GM will not put on a decent enough sealant. I just do not want to have another of those incident three hundred miles from home and on a raining night.

thanks
