Just wondering if any one has encountered this problem....major water pouring in passenger side just below the fuse box. It only happens after a rain....but we can't find any holes/cracks that it may be leaking in.

This venture has turned out to be a money pit and would like to attempt to fix this ourselves if possible.

check the drain hole for the a/c. The rain water also drains off of it. If it is plugged you will get this problem. Don't ya just love ventures. My 98 has had three intake gaskets, head gaskets, and plenum gaskets, new IAC, Battery, ALT, all kinds of good stuff.

Thanks for the info.

Is this a job we could do ourselves?

check the roof rack mounting bolts, common source for water in the passenger compartment

How do I find and get to the drain hole?

My '97 leaks from both the driver AND passenger sides especially after a heavy rainfall. This problem just started last year. It isn't fun to get in the vehicle, start it up and take off only to have your left foot suddenly soaked with cold water:eek: I also noticed that the leak in my windshield just above and to the right of the rear view mirror mysteriously stopped as I noticed the water leaks begin to occur from the door areas. I also have surface rust and minor rust holes on the roof next to the windshield which adds to the problem.

I have encountered this problem on or 00 Venture and our 99 Pontiac Transport(cousin vehicles) Take some Gorilla glue or some equilivant(something that expands) and squirt in holes in rubber door molding near top of windshield. Also look to fill any holes or gaps along top of windshield, but expecially on corners.

wow, seems the venture has a crap load of problems with it

biggest problem I've had with mine is the transmission started shifiting real hard, so I had to take that in
but luckly I a warranty for that (got the warranty from the bank when I bought the van)

but, unfortually that warranty doesnt cover air bag sensors, which cost $600, what are they, made out of gold
why yes they are, lol

but now my a/c is leaking oil like crazy when its ran, thing is though it working fine for the longest time, dealer felt the need to mess with it, then tell me the transmission was fine, though it wasnt

since they messed with it, it never cooled quite as well, and now its broken

:banghead: Forget what I said a few days ago about sealing leaks neat door and windshield. I thought it was fixed, but it rained yesterday and sure enough the floor is wet.:shakehead
