Rear end question 99 quadra drive v8msrjeep 08-23-2004, 12:41 PM anyone have recommendations for gear oil brand and LSD additive brand for the rear end of my 99 JGC? xj31, do you like the OEM mopar stuff the best? the seal in the rear end has developed a small leak, and it's been binding in tight low speed turns recently. So, it's time to change the fluid. Myrtle Beach 08-23-2004, 01:32 PM Amsoil 75-140W Synthetic-Already has LS additive so there is no need to buy extra-Best oil i have ever used JDPascal 08-23-2004, 03:13 PM My preferences are mobil 1 or Amsoil synthetics They will reduce the heat generated in the diff or manual transmission. They both have the LSA in them but I added 4 oz of the mopar LS product. Diff is much smoother now. I was starting to think the viscous coupler was going but the new oil made an improvement. I'm using 80w90 front and rear but I'm not doing any trailer towing and winter is coming up with down to -40 F. Think I'll keep it at least till spring. JD xj31 08-23-2004, 06:46 PM im kind of biased because i work at a jeep dealer.so i always use mopar stuff for everything.i will have to admit it is overpriced.whatever you do,make sure you use the additive vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
