Poll: Rear sway bars - on, off or quick disconnect?brad77 02-06-2002, 03:30 AM After seeing many posts regarding this issue, and being curious about it myself, how many of you have removed your rear sway bar? I'm thinking about quick disconnects down the line...possibly from a tax refund. We'll see. brad Maddog 02-06-2002, 07:26 AM I wouldn't waste your money on quick discos for the rear bar. You feel very little difference when driving with no rear sway bar. There are much wiser choices for which to spend your "mod money." Dog Craigs_Tonka 02-06-2002, 09:08 AM the easiest mod I ever did..... pulled it off and threw it in the garage. Done. Instant additional flex. :D OffroadX 02-06-2002, 10:10 AM This is a no-brainer... Take it off. Drive around a few days or weeks. No problem? Done! Don't like it? Put it back on and consider disconnects. Brent rrdstarr 02-06-2002, 02:12 PM Didn'r we cover this about two weeks ago? I'm looking for it in the forums..... Antitree_hugger 02-06-2002, 02:15 PM but now it is a Poll! :flipa: brad77 02-07-2002, 02:31 AM It's been covered several times, but I was interested in numbers. People may be more likely to vote than actually post. Thanks for voting. brad O1SalsaX 02-07-2002, 12:55 PM As I posted in the other forum. I'm running Bilsteins with the swaybar still on. The right Bilstein is upsidedown. My question is... Does anyone have the Calmini Quick Disconnects on their X right now with aftermarket shocks?? If so, Would they or wouldnt they recommend them?? I do a lot of street driving and at least once or twice a month go offroading. Any info would be greatly appreciated. L8r Ken YAY! POST NUMBER 50!!! Stormy 02-07-2002, 04:48 PM Shouldn't this be "who removed their rear sway bar"? When I read it I thought you were talking about front and rear. Or, maybe I am a dick.:bloated: brad77 02-08-2002, 01:36 AM Originally posted by Stormy Shouldn't this be "who removed their rear sway bar"? Schludwiller 02-08-2002, 12:19 PM Changed it. Is that ok, now? brad77 02-08-2002, 01:04 PM Much appreciated...thanks! scott.com 02-09-2002, 06:10 PM I'll let you know. Just ordered the large body rear Bilstein shocks and will be installing them next weekend. Interested to see how the X will perform without the rear bars. goofiefoot 02-11-2002, 10:52 AM Took mine off this weekend. It had dented my stock shock and I thought I'd see what the difference would be without it. I've driven over 100 miles since, up to 85 mph - I can't feel a difference. As far as I'm concerned, it can stay off. Philosopher 02-14-2002, 01:36 PM Originally posted by Stormy Shouldn't this be "who removed their rear sway bar"? Thanks Philo. Read my last post. From the survey results, looks like I'll be removing both of my rear sway bars...http://www.plauder-smilies.de/icon16.gif scott.com 02-24-2002, 01:20 PM Ok I'm now post rear sway bar. First let me say the new rear shocks rock. Thank Rick for helping with the install. Oh hell for doing the install. Can't wait for the front ones to arrive. Anyway there's not a huge difference post sway bar. The back does seem to tip a bit more but not to the point of making me feel like I'm going to go over. Glad I made the move. Can't wait to try it off road. akordboy 06-08-2005, 12:28 PM I imaging the only way to get the rear sway bar off is with an impact gun. I tried using my wrench and almost broke my wrist. Now, if I could just find somebody with an impact gun..:thinkerg: Schludwiller 06-24-2005, 11:36 PM I imaging the only way to get the rear sway bar off is with an impact gun.
