I have just recently bought a second hand 1988 BMW 735i auto and the oil pressure gauge started to beep whilst i was driving it yesterday. I do not have a BMW Owners Manual (if anyone knows where i can buy one, or if they can email a copy to me, i would really appreciate it!) and am unsure what the cause of the problem is. Does anyone have any suggestions about the cause and what i need to do to fix it? I would like to avoid having to spend a fortune fixing it, as I did not pay much for the car in the first place!

I'm sorry I don't have a suggested solution for your problem, Jasonmas, but as far as an owner's manual is concerned, you should be able to go to Amazon.com or some other bookseller and get a new or even used one on-line. If you google "BMW owners manual" you may get more ideas as well.

Another thought.....when I went looking for one myself, I found other manuals (such as Chilton manuals) cheaper than the actual BMW manual. However, these don't cover everything the owner's manual does, but would certainly be great if you are just looking for repairs.

start by replacing the oil pressure switch [top rear of the cylinder head @ rear of the intake manifold.
