dash ABS TCS warning lights

I have a 1997 Venture and am experiencing problems with the ABS and TCS warning lights. Lately, they appear and disappear. Sometimes, restarting the engine will turn them off, other times not. Last night I also noticed that the hazard lights on the dash were faintly noticeable each time the brakes were applied. The interior cab lights are also malfunctioning.

This has happened before --- the first time over a year ago. The warning lights went on and the battery went completely dead and had to be replaced. The second time, the battery posts were loose. I have checked the posts and everything is tight.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I'd say either it is the battery again, or a bad alternator.

I have a 98 Ventura (in Sweden they are called TranSport) with the same problem, it had something to do with the warning system for the safety belt (front right).

You've got a ground problem somewhere, check the battery posts for green corrosion and clean if necessary. Also check the battery ground cable. It should attach to both the engine and frame. If these connections get greasy or corrded, it will cause your symptoms.
