Had fun with a ricer...But still kinda lostAmish_kid 08-20-2004, 04:44 PM Ha man, this was atleast somewhat decent run. Me(91 teg) vs. 94-01 Riced out badly Integra. So I'm minding my own business just putting along and outta nowhere hear this loud * braa * braaaapppp * BRRRRRRRRaaaaaappppp*(downshifting lol.) As I'm pulling up to a redlight Mr.ricer thought he was funny threw 1 or 2 Revs I never bothered I just put it up to 3200 rpms and launched at green, and hooked it rather nicely and got a good jump on him. Had him at my rear bumper through the top of second but when I mis-shifted and got back in 3rd, I was at his back wheel so I pretty much stayed there until 100kms when I let off. So yeah probably surprised the hell outta him. Now I'm really wanted to get a some work done and lay waste to more!!! ...Ohh well just a pipedream. -The Stig- 08-20-2004, 05:27 PM Amish are allowed to drive cars? :eek7: :icon16: good stuff, just don't miss 3rd next time. Amish_kid 08-20-2004, 06:07 PM I dunno, I think sometimes I'd rather miss 3rd since the synchro is pretty much gone and grinds like a mofo when I put it in. -The Stig- 08-20-2004, 06:15 PM My Z's old tranny had a bad 3rd syncro... and a bad 2nd... so Heel-Toe/Rev Matching was a must if you needed to down shift... or upshift. Basically anytime you put your hand on the shift knob you had to do something with the gas. :cwm27: Not anymore though... new tranny.... along with new motor. :smokin: Amish_kid 08-20-2004, 06:25 PM Not anymore though... new tranny.... along with new motor. :smokin: And which motor might that be ? :D I'd like to do that myself but I'm poor so I can't be bothered. Neutrino 08-20-2004, 09:16 PM And which motor might that be ? :D rendneck's got himself an ecotec :grinno: Amish_kid 08-20-2004, 11:20 PM rendneck's got himself an ecotec :grinno: CRAZY! That thing will probably run 8's! Was he banned, I remember how he kept pushing the ecotec on everyone and kept pissing people off. Neutrino 08-20-2004, 11:47 PM CRAZY! That thing will probably run 8's! stock nontheless eclipsefan98 08-21-2004, 12:15 PM this is weird because my Talon's 3rd gear synchro is almost shot also, but unlike amish kid i will replace it! j/p amish kid i know how it feels to dream big on a small wallet! 96TSi 08-21-2004, 01:18 PM i think every DSM has some tranny problem. it wasnt one of their strongpoints when they were building them kittedb18bt 08-21-2004, 01:37 PM nice run. i thought the ecotec LS1 was the motor that ran 8's. SpaceManSpiff 08-21-2004, 02:26 PM DSMs have tranny problems often not because the trannys suck, but because the engines are capable of so much power, and lots of power + lots of grip + lots of 6000 rpm launches + other misc abuse = broken trannys. And no, no, no. The LS1 is the engine from the P52 (the second gen P51) mustang that won WW2 singlehandedly. The Ecotec is the engine from the allmighty Cavalier Type R (CTR) that runs 10s stock and runs 8s with a big shot of Nawwwssss. 96TSi 08-21-2004, 02:33 PM cavalier type r? run 10s stock? hahahahahahahah -The Stig- 08-21-2004, 02:41 PM And no, no, no. The LS1 is the engine from the P52 (the second gen P51) mustang that won WW2 singlehandedly. The Ecotec is the engine from the allmighty Cavalier Type R (CTR) that runs 10s stock and runs 8s with a big shot of Nawwwssss. Yup, that's what I'm doing. TRD2000 08-21-2004, 06:19 PM ummmm cavalier...HMMMM thought the LS1 was from the Corvette and Holden Commodores? Sleepr awd 08-22-2004, 03:32 AM i'm lost... tha_new_guy 08-25-2004, 12:19 PM ummmm cavalier...HMMMM thought the LS1 was from the Corvette and Holden Commodores? i'm lost... Its a long-running joke about another member on AF *COUGH ECOT3C COUGH* who would always annoy the users with the amazing potential of his mighty Z24 Cavalier....so now we all make fun of him nonstop. NONSTOP. So now other AF members call the Ecotec motor "half LS1" (although a 4.8L Chevy V8 would be disturbing...hmm) and so on and so forth. Ergo, heretoforth, and nevertheless, I am done. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
