my wife's g/c is haveing some troubles..going down the road it seems that the tranny is slipping. if u watch the tach. it will rev about 300-500 rpms and then catch again. it does it about once every 5-10 sec. any ideas what it could be? i checked the fluid and the level is good but there are air bubbles in it. i have never seen bubbles before. please help. would a good flush be in order? it has 118k miles on it.

try flushing it and be sure to use genuine GM Mopar ATF+3 transmission fluid. if that doesn't work you might need an overhaul. #1 cause of transmission failure is overheating causing the fluid to oxidize and break down prematurely. Fluid life is cut in half everytime temperature increases past the fluid rating 20F. Basically transmissions fail from not having the fluid changed often enough. Some transmission fluids will last 100k miles, but that's optimum temperature. typically i change mine every 30k or even 15k when towing, etc.

is it slipping or is it shifting up and down? a common problem is the governor pressure transducer but that will make it shift up and down at steady speeds.sometimes it feels like its slipping

Exactly the same symptoms I had. Ended up getting it rebuilt. Good luck.

lol@GM mopar what i meant is Chrysler/mopar... either way i would change the fluid first and maybe have the TCM reprogrammed first, if that doesnt work, then it's overhaul time most likely
