I have a 2002 E46 (330Ci) and would like replace the factory installed HK head unit for an Alpine one.

I was wondering if anyone had any information on how do this and what I will need to buy to do this??

For instance, will I need to purchase a level converter?
If so, from who?

Also, where can I get a face plate that will allow a standard DIN head unit to fit the non-standard mounting area that BMW uses ??

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

check out crutchfield.com. i was looking at upgrading the sound sys on my e36 and they say that they include everything needed for installation. if you cant find it on their web site, give them a call, their tech support team is very good. and if thats a no go, then call up a local car audio installer that has a good rep and ask them
