g20.net and the AF boardNismoboy1 05-25-2001, 10:10 AM I just wanna give a big thumbs up to both of ya for setting up a successful g20 board. I always notice that we g20 owners take up the majority of the "online" members on these boards all the time. That just goes to show that we've needed something like this for a long time, so I personally would like to thank Jason and Igor for their time and effort in to making this work, and I hope to see that both of these sites progress further so that everyone can gain knowledge about their car as I did. I've learned a lot from just visiting here every so often, so I'd like to thank all those who've help me also, so everyone...keep up the good work! ;) igor@af 05-25-2001, 10:16 AM :right: Dprotech 05-25-2001, 12:05 PM Is it suck up time yet ? haha ...Nismo ..you did a great job ... just kidding. It takes a man ...a real man to say to another what they are feeling. Oh yeah did you get your car fixed up ? But its true ..website ain't as good as a forum ..no offence to Jason's great site. This truly is what G20 and Primera owners needed ...I don't feel so freaking alone now. I think manufacturers should be invited to these forums to hear what real people have to say about their cars. Lots can be learnt. Kudos to both Igor and Jason for a terrific idea:silly: Nismoboy1 05-25-2001, 12:34 PM Dprotech - lol you're a funny guy aren't you lol j/k anyways my car is currently in the body shop getting fixed, and I have no idea when it's getting out :( and to the rest of you clowns :) j/k if someone doesn't step up and give these guys any props for the hard work they do, who will? Just think if this place didn't exist for us g20 owners...so big ups to J and I. Peace. thaa 05-25-2001, 01:06 PM yepp. big ups to you!! dre 05-25-2001, 01:15 PM I must agree and give thanks for this board. It is a great free resource that I'm sure alot of us don't realize all the trouble people have gone through for us. G20.net is also a great resource that takes alot more work than one would think. Keep up the good work guys. Oh yeah-- Anyone try using the boards that infiniti provides for owners? Don't bother. Takes forever to load a page, and many times just loads half the page. questions to Infiniti go unanswered on their own boards. I guess they figure all the people in those forums already bought their Infiniti, so there is no maney to be made. That's not the 'total ownership experience' I was hoping for. igor@af 05-25-2001, 06:55 PM Infiniti has their own message board? Where? primera man 05-25-2001, 11:17 PM Well said Nismoboy 1....its is the best site for info etc. It's so good to see so many people here that share the same interest of Primera/G20's. Before i came to this forum i never new they even had them in the USA. The only thing that is a bugger is how we will probably never meet each other and go on a big cruise/meeting etc as we are all from different corners of the planet Be unreal to all get together with our cars for a show n shine. :D :D But if any one of you ever visits NZ there will be a place to came and stay and talk cars and have a few cold one's....... at the PRIMERA MANS HOUSE.(Guess you could call it a invitation   ) Cheers dre 05-26-2001, 06:24 PM the forum is on infiniti.com under owner stuff... here---> Crappy forum at infiniti.com (http://www.infiniti.com/docs/fr_ownersclub.html) then go to 'owner essentials' kris 05-27-2001, 07:23 PM Well, has anyone emailed there local dealer this forum url? I know I did. Just a thought to all of you. Now, I really dont know if anyone there will stop by, but who knows. i_rebel 05-29-2001, 12:41 PM This is truly an excellent resource. I don't know what it's like to own the Primera . . . at least in the countries where it's called that. Here, owning a G20 is kinda like being a stepchild. I don't feel quite at home amongst Nissan owners, and the traditional Infiniti owner isn't normally performance minded. Hell, I can't even get a dealer to cooperate with me when it comes to parts information. These two sites are great resources for me. Plus, I get to meet some of you other owners, which is a bonus. primera man 05-29-2001, 06:03 PM i-rebel.....what i like about the Primera/G20 is that its not that common a car to do up (kits/wheels etc) and when you do it, it gets more looks and questions as people want to know more. I get sick of going to shows or getting books and all you see are CRX/WRX/EVO that are everywhere. If Nissan owners think you the poor boy who has the stepchild car they aren't worth being called a Nissan fan and need to look out side the small square they are in.  AWD Primera 05-29-2001, 10:59 PM Hey. Congrats on a great message board. Plenty of useful information, and plenty of awesome cars to droul over! Keep up the good work!:flash: G-Forces 06-01-2001, 08:39 PM Hey guys thanks a lot! I honestly didn't think g20.net or these forums would get so damn popular in such a short time. It just goes to show that there was a demand for this. The G20 forums have OVER 10% of the posts for the site! This is awesome. If you guys get a chance please go to some of the other forums and participate, I know Igor would like that. Since it's because of him we have this forum. I have a lot of updates still to do with the site, g20.net, but it's a hobby and you'll just have to bare with me. Since I work out of town most of the time I can't work on the site for long streaches. While out of town I'll be working on some perl scripts to hopefuly help me do updates faster. Currently I'm looking for writeups for HOWTO, DYI's and impressions of any aftermarket parts you may have installed. You'll see why I need these in the next month or two. Lastly I think G20.net needs a face lift. If any of you asparing HTML-fu masters out there want to try your hand at a layout please give it a shot. The pages must be static, flat and adhere to the HTML standards. Oh and it has to be readable by humans! Some java scripting is OK but try and keep it down. I'm pretty good at the technical but when it comes to graphics, well I leave a lot to be desired. :) The G20.net log you see at the top of all the forums took me like 2 mins but I couldn't come up with anything better. Challange! Can someone make a better one? :) igor@af 06-01-2001, 08:44 PM I'm gonna give the design a shot Jason :D And the logo. Now about G20 forums taking up over 10% of all the posts, that is just ridiculous:p joke.... But watch out guys, because soon enough, the G20 forums might lose their title as being the most popular on AF ;) mwahahahahaaaaaa G-Forces 06-01-2001, 09:00 PM You would like that wouldn't you? ;) I can't wait to see what you can come up with. :) igor@af 06-01-2001, 09:12 PM Jason, I'm done with the logo!! It took me lots of time, but I now know it was worth it. I look at the logo and just can't get enough of it! It is really really jaw dropping :eek2: I will put it up on here in 3 minutes. ;) igor@af 06-01-2001, 09:15 PM here it is!!!!!!! primera man 06-01-2001, 11:19 PM LOL :D :D .....I CANT WAIT FOR JASON'S ANSWER !!!!!!:flash: :flash: b-b00gie 06-02-2001, 12:19 AM lol... its good enough to hang on the fridge!! but seriously... jason, if you want i can work something up for you? i have all day tomorrow and the next (although i'm supposed to be working on the website for my local shop concidering i'm getting a set of 3 piece RH M5's 19x7.5 w/ tires... $3200 value in exchange for the work and i keep putting it off) what you want sounds simple though.. no content just format ;) i'm starting to do freelance web design (when i have time). its always been a hobby. i'm the "internet coordinator" at my company (which is the #2 NASDAQ market maker by volume) and i manage all our inter/intranet websites and work with all the webdesigners we hire etc.... i'm in charge of all the content that goes into the site, making sure the webservers are always up, and maintaining security etc... anyway.... stick w/ the same blue/black/white color scheme?? maybe this calls for a poll... Jason??? primera man 06-02-2001, 03:18 AM Sounds like a good job you have. Me and computers dont really get on to well. Man.....if i was you i'd be getting that web site finshed to get them wheels. Be intresting to start a thread to see what we all do for a living to pay for our cars. b-b00gie 06-02-2001, 11:46 AM ...Jason??? ...you out there? G-Forces 06-02-2001, 03:54 PM Yeah I'm here....I'm reciprocating and going to design a banner for Automotiveforums...you'll see it tomorrow. :p. As for designing a layout anything goes for color schemes, just keep the fancy stuff like java scripting and flash to a min. My provider only servers static pages and I shove the content into the layout with perl scripts. Oh yeah, and let's try and make it look professional...not like some preschooler made it. ;) *ahem*Igor*ahem* igor@af 06-02-2001, 05:09 PM I'll seriously work on the design and logo for G20.net tomorrow hopefully ;) G-Forces 06-04-2001, 12:43 PM Ok well you might want to update your logos with this then! :) It's more like a new slogan... :apoke: igor@af 06-04-2001, 12:53 PM vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
