Door Problem

Has anyone else experienced a problem with their door hinges pulling away from the body. We noticed the wind rushing prettly loudly at the driver's door when driving, so we opened the door and looked and you can see the door hinge pulling away, like the door is too heavy. Has anyone else had this problem? The noise is driving me nuts - sometimes I hear it instead of the music inside! Love my Tek otherwise, though!!

While we haven't had the problem on our teks I have heard of it before. Usually it happens when a big wind catchs the door when open and it opens to far.

I have heard of that problem too but have only heard of it happening like Chameleon said. Have you ever opened your door rear fast or in high winds that it was basically yanked opened? That is not a common problem, however it is know to happen more with SUVs and vans. The doors are made so large that more wind catches them and can yank them open really fast. Also if you park facing down on a hill and open your door and let it go, then gravity just yanks it open and can bend the hinges. Hinges aren't made to withstand strong forces like that, they are made to withstand forces that can keep the door on the vehicle. You might be able to take it to a service shop and see if they can bend the hinges back to adjust them.
