My dugher is looking to buy her first car - a 1993 Ford Taurus. It seems to be in really good condition, except the guy says it needs a variable speed sensor. He says he has been driving it for a while like it is. Can anyone tell me what we're looking at here. Price and importance wise? Thanks!!

Just saw some posts on that in the Sable forum... JimLev says it's a $30 sensor for the transaxle. When it goes bad, the speedo gets all erratic, the car may shift poorly, and the "O/D Off" light flashes. Dunno how hard it is to replace it, though.
