91, with brakes that go to the floorsqueakyrand 08-16-2004, 01:39 AM My 91 accords brakes go down very easily, which I've been told by a mechanic is a typical trait of Honda cars (is that true?). It stops fine, so that wouldnt worry me. However, occaisonally, the brake pedal has no resistance whatsoever, and goes all the way down without feeling like it is doing anything. The brake pads and fluid are good, and I've had them bled, which if anything made it worse. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? Thank you in advance! AccordCodger 08-16-2004, 09:05 AM Almost certainly needs a new master cylinder. Do it NOW! Sounds like a bad master cylinder -- in addition, you probably have air in your brake lines now too. phoenixitc 08-16-2004, 01:06 PM Similar problem with my 95 Accord. Had master brake cylinder replaced. ericnors 08-16-2004, 08:30 PM ^ Yep same thing. Brake would be al the way to the floor and car would still creep forward @ a red light or something. cdm_ipgamer 08-16-2004, 08:47 PM That mechanic knows shit about Hondas. My Honda has a very sensitive brake - it grabs very tightly and you certainly don't press it to the floor. I can't say the same for most American cars. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
