'96 Lumina Radio Doesn't Work...HELP!!!Adam1123581321 08-12-2004, 06:08 PM Ok, the radio in my '96 Lumina doesn't work. When I turn the radio on, I won't get any music or noise...it's just silence. And then randomly, there will be a burst of volume, maxxed out, for just a second and then silence again. I just switched out the factory installed radio and put in a newer one, but that didn't help at all. Any ideas? Adam jeffcoslacker 08-13-2004, 07:50 PM Did the aftermarket radio have radom operation too, or just not work at all? It sounds like the cicuit breaker in the amp circuit? jeffcoslacker 08-15-2004, 05:30 PM The Delco/Bose systems have a seperate dicrete amplifier circuit. tblake 08-15-2004, 05:32 PM do the later luminas have factory amplifiers? If so, I would check all connections to that. Adam1123581321 08-17-2004, 03:33 AM THANK YOU!!! Now...where would I find the amp? I do pa sound, don't know much about car audio. Adam Adam1123581321 08-18-2004, 06:36 PM The aftermarket radio works slightly better than the stock one, but it is random as well. I noticed last night that when I turned on the rear window defogger that I could hear a pop in the speakers. Could the lines be crossed and that's causing my problems? SpitAndDirt 08-18-2004, 07:08 PM You may find the amp located more than likely just below the glove box door, up underneath the dash. At least that's where they were located in the earlier models. -Chris vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
