my airbag light flashes 4 times then 2 times . What does this meen??I tried the door light trick but it doesnt work. How do I get it to quit flashing?without spending alot of money??

I think you will have to take it in to Ford. I have a 95 Taurus that is doing same thing, but mine is flashing a 41. Here is the insane part. It cost me $55.00 to have Ford tell me it was a sensor. My concern was if the air bag could accidently deploy while driving and would it deploy if in a collision. Ford said it the system was fine and would work properly. I said then, why is the light flashing if the system is OK. He said the sensor was to stop the light from flashing. So, why is the light flashing? He said because the air bag sys. has no signal from the front sensor. OK, no signal from the front sensor but the system is fine and will work properly and you want $353.77 to replace the sensor just so the light will stop flashing. A sensor that causes a light to flash for no reason! I asked where this sensor was located and he said under the driver seat. I am hoping to get one out of junk yard. The sensor itself is $120.00. My problem now is I forgot to ask the mechanic what it looks like and where exactly to find it. I can't find diagrams or pics on the sys. anywhere. I just got out of there fast before they charge me for asking questions. I hope you have better luck. You will need to know what your 42 code means. I can tell you what it partially means, "Pay the Ford man $55.00". Let me know what you find out. GOOD LUCK!
